Class of 1929
Margaret Lawrence Piland and her hus
band, Rodney, reside in Raleigh, N.C. They
have two daughters, Mrs. T. C. Bowen of
Charlottesville, Va., and Mrs. James Close
of Fairfax, Va.
Class of 1932
Maggie Boone Bridgers and her husband,
J. Grady Bridgers, live in Jackson, N.C. She
is a retired teacher. They have one son and
two grandchildren.
Thelma Perry of Cofield, N.C., is a retired
postmistress.
Mrs. W. Talmage Lewis, the former Callie
Patrick, has a daughter, one son, and two
grandchildren. She is a retired teacher and
lives in Hertford, N.C
Mrs. Theresa Davis Fowlkes resides in
Richmond, Va. Now retired, she worked in
the Reserve Bank for 31 years.
Mrs. Alma Belche Bryant, a retired
teacher resides in Clinton, N.C. She recent
ly enjoyed a trip to Hawaii and has traveled
extensively in Europe.
Class of 1950
Mary Woodard Edwards is a social
worker with the Northampton County
Department of Social Services. She and her
husband, Woodrow, live in Seaboard, N.C.
Class of 1959
Don Upchurch, who taught for 12 years in
Germany, has returned to the states and
resides in Raleigh, N.C.
Class of 1960
G. T. Simpson has been promoted to
manager of fixture construction and in
stallation of Rose’s Stores Inc. of Hender
son. He is married to Linda Smith Simpson
and they have two children: a son, Gerry, 9,
and a daughter Rebecca, 7.
Class of 1963
John P. Upton, Jr. is a registered
sanitarian with the Health Department in
Orange County. He and his wife, Patsy, and
their daughter, Mary-Moore live in
Hillsborough, N.C.
Class of 1964
Tom S. Clair is a sales representative for
M & M/Mars Candies. He resides in
Hickory with his wife, son and a daughter.
Class of 1967
Connie Crumpler is employed by A. B. An
drews & Assoc, as an Executive Assistant
working in the areas of corporate law,
trusts, securities and real estate. She is a
resident of Raleigh, where she works.
Mrs. Lynn Smith Pope, R. N., Ostomy
Clinical Nurse Specialist, works at Durham
County General Hospital. She has been
recognized for her dedication and outstan
ding work in the area of ostomy care.
Benjamin C. Herndon, Jr. is a football
coach at Caroline High School in Milford,
Va. He is married to the former Susan Carol
George. He and his wife live in
Fredericksburg, Va.
Class oi 1968
Joel A. Williams has been appointed ac
counting supervisor in Vepco’s division ac
counting department in Roanoke Rapids, N.
C. He and his wife, Phyllis, live with their
children. Brad and Michael, in Roanoke
Rapids.
Class of 1969
R. B. “Bobby” Capel has been named
branch office manager of the Wilson office
of the Carolina Production Credit Associa
tion. He is married to the former Helen
Strickland of Roanoke Rapids and they have
three children, Rob, Melissa and Leanna.
Tom Ballance of Portsmouth, Va., has
been promoted to assistant principal at
Alliance Christian School.
Jerry Rowland is married to the former
Kathryn Daniels Grasse. He is a student at
Appalachian State University.
Class of 1970
James Wright Bass and his wife, Vivian,
reside in Elm City, N.C. He is employed by
Joyners Funeral Home and she works in the
area of social services.
Carter W. Jones, Jr. is president of
Phones Unlimited, Inc. of Norfolk, Va.
Phyllis WiUiams Chewning Rhea and her
husband, Earl, live in Rocky Mount, N.C.
She is employed with the City of Rocky
Mount, and he works with Wildwood Lamp
Co.
Class of 1971
F. Val Price, Jr. (’71) and his wife, Vickie
Parker Price (’71) tave one son, Jeffery Val
Price. Val is a financial analyst with
Carolina Enterprises of Tarboro, N.C. They
reside in Rocky Mount, N.C.
James A. Cherry as been appointed ex
ecutive vice president of tte Greater
Orangeburg Chamber of Commerce. He and
his wife, Kay, are the parents of one son,
Matthew. They live in Orangeburg, S.C.

Cindy Scott Dickerson is employed by
Duke Medical Center as a head nurse in the
Surgical Oncology Outjiatient Clinic. She
and her husband, William Lindsay Dicker
son, Jr., reside in Durham, N.C.
Teddy Grissom is serving as president
elect of the Isle of Wright County School
System.

Libby House lives in Rocky Mount, N.C.

Victoria Leigh Harrington Banks and her
husband, Alton Gerald Banks, live in Green
ville, N.C. She is a teacher at Welcome Mid
dle School in GreenviUe, and he is a sales
representative with Harrington Manufac
turing Company, Inc. of Lewiston, N.C.
Class of 1974
Judy D. Bullock has been licensed by the
State Board of Certified Public Accountants
and is employed with Robertson, Neal &
Company, Inc., CPA(S) in Greensboro, N.C.
She is a resident of Greensboro.
David Michael Best and his wife Pamela
Dawn Weaver Best, make their home in
Becker Farms, Roanoke Rapids, N.C. He is
Educational Specialist at Halifax County
Mental Health Center, where she is also
Alcoholism Counselor.

Gary Lyn Swing is married to Debra Ann
Chrismon Swing. He is a field engineer with
JMD Contractors in Greensboro. She is a
staff nurse at Moses Cone Hospital in
Greensboro, N.C.
Cindy E. Parker is staff pharmacist-
manager of White Oak Community Phar
macy in White Oak Medical Center,
Maysville, N.C. and serves as associate
pharmacist at Swansboro Drugs, Inc. and
consultant pharmacist at Morehead Nurs
ing Center. She resides in Emerald Isle,
N.C.
Bethania Jo Alston Baggett and her hus
band, Robert, live in Ahoskie, N.C. He is
employed at the Department of Transporta
tion.

Susan Elaine Floyd AUen is married to
John David Allen. He is a salesman with
Linstone, Inc. They live in Wilson, N.C.
Ruth Chantelle Holloman is employed at
the Howard University Hospital as a radia
tion therapy technologist and clinical in
structor.
Leonard Worth Little, Jr., and his wife,
the former Diane Coleman, live in
Charlotte, N.C., where he is employed by
Pelton and Crane Company. She works at
Lance Corporation.
Steven W. Wilson lives in Wilmington,
N.C. He is assistant football coach at North
Brunswick High School.
Sandra Gwen Seamons Coghill and her
husband, Eddie, are makmg their home in
Chesapeake, Va. He is employed as a
foreman for W. C. English Construction Co.
Bobby Cale Casper is married to Vicky
Sue Williams Casper. He is presently work
ing for Westpoint Pepperell in Lumberton,
N.C. She is a student at Pembroke State
University. They reside in Lumberton.
David Pendley lives in Brooklyn Park,
Minn. He works for the JAPS-Olson Printing
Company in Minneapolis, Minn.

Donna Faye Campbell Harbour and her
husband are living in Hendersonville, Tenn.
He is owner of Carpetland and Harbour
House Art Gallery. She is manager of the
Art Gallery.
Jimmy Thomas Parker, Jr. is employed
at the Upper Coastal Plain Research Station
near Rocky Mount, N.C. He is married to
the former Teresa Elizabeth Crisp. She is a
radiologic technologist with Nash General
Hospital in Rocky Mount.
Martha Leigh Driver Beddingfield and
her husband, William Carroll, reside in
Rocky Mount, N.C. She is employed at
Peoples Bank and Trust Company and he
works at Nash General Hospital.
Betty Jean Moore Jackson is married to
Cnristopher W. Jackson. They live in
Clarkston, Ga.
Julia Carol Sykes Bennett is a senior at
East Carolina University. She is married to
Donald Ray Bennett. He is employed at St.
Regis Paper Company in FranJclin, Va.
They are making their home in Mur
freesboro, N.C.

Danny Andrew Sisson (’78) and his wife,
the former Phyllis Murrill Greer (’78),
reside in Kilmarnock, Va. He is employed
by WKWI radio station in Kilmarnock, and
she works at the Southside Sentinel in Ur-
bana, Va.
Laura Lee Ward Flye is employed at the
Nash County Schools Administrative
Center. Her husband, Marvin Randall, is
engaged in farming. They live in Battleboro,
N.C.
Teresa Ann Bryand Forman and her hus
band, Donald, live in Newport News, Va.
Phil Heitman is a student at UNC-
Wilmington. He is majoring in Marine
Biology.
Patricia Lynn Myers Garrison is married
to James Richard Garrison, and they reside
in Charlotte, N.C. She works for the Center
for Human Development, and he is assistant
manager for Sterchi Brothers Furniture
Stores, Inc. of Charlotte.
Baxter Baker is an orthotist instructor at
Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio,
Tex.
Stacey Lynn McKinney lives in Concord,
N.C.
Carol Anne Clark Taylor is married to
Mitchell Stephen Taylor. He is self-
employed in Conway, N.C., where the cou
ple lives.
Dwight McKeithan is employed as a
pressman with the Kernersville News-
Carter Publishing Company.
