CF Industries paid tribute for support A plaque expressing appreciation from Chowan College to CF Industries of nearby Tunis was presented by President Bruce E. Whitaker to CF Industries plant manager Bob Phillips at an appreciation dinner for fertilizer plant employees held recently in the President’s Din ing Room of Thomas Cafeteria. The occasion was sponsored by college and its Department of Science. Dr. Whitaker thanked CF Industries for the donation of numerous chemical supplies and equipment and other support the company has given to the college over the years. The fertilizer plant was closed during the past summer and the equipment and facilities are now being dismantl ed for shipment to another location. In accepting the plaque, Phillips said the donations to Chowan were made in an effort to support the teaching of science in northeastern North Carolina.
