The organization also exists to assist member colleges and universities in developing mean ingful opportunities for educa tional experiences in a global con text, while providing a mechanism for responding to requests for assistance from educational in stitutions or other entities in other countries. “Cooperative Services Interna tional provides a mechanism whereby Baptist colleges can ex press their commitment to Chris tian missions,” noted Chaplain Taylor, “Its programs will provide a Christian witness of untold worth and reward, especially in those countries where governments may be averse to the entry of mis sionaries who engage in direct evangelism and/or church plan ting. Although the consortium is still in its infancy, Chowan College looks forward to the expansion of its operations to include services and ministries in which our facul ty, staff, and students might be profitably engaged.” Other Charter Members Other charter member institu tions of the Cooperative Services International Educational Con sortium are: Baylor University, Waco, Texas; Belmont College, Nashville, Tennessee; California Baptist College, Riverside; Carson-Newman College, Jeffer son City, Tennessee; Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina; Georgetown (Ky) Col- The regional Senior Adult Rallt;. held in Turner Auditorium of McDowell Columns, attracted a large turnout in April.
