Following a lengthy business sea ' dor tike program was takes up with Mrs. ,T. J. Brooks os leader. The Sp study' of the opera, “Samson and Delilah,” by Saint-Saens, was con tinued. The story of the opera was * told by Mrs. J. S. Truitt, and the : fallowing selections from the opera «vl were given: piano solo, “Romance,” by Mrs. A. M. Hubbard; vocal solo, “The Bells,” by Mrs. A. Kimrey very cordially entertained the members of her bridge club and several additional guests Friday evening, there being three tables of contract in play. The Pierian- Club’s meeting on Wee ! nesday afternoon, February 15th. was one. of unusual pleasure to thi members, in that they had as thcii guests- on this occasion the member; of the Sanford Music Club and twi former members of the Pierian Club Mrs. C. £. Teague -and Miss Rutl Gunter, of Greensboro, .who accom . panied the guest speaker of the aftei noon, Mrs. Kephart, of Greensboro. The meeting occurred at the beau itiful home of Mrs. E. C. Heins, Jr, on Rosemont, which was attractve ly arranged for the occasion with masses pf early spring flowers. The guests were greeted by Mrs. Heins Mrs. J. N. McNair, president of the Pierian dub, Mrs. J. R. Ingram, vice ’president, and were presented to Mrs Kephart, Mrs. Teague, and M'ss Gun Iter. Mrs. E. A. Griffin received in the living room. I Mrs. Kephart was introduced to her audience by Mrs. Teague, and ’gave a most delightful talk on her impressions of . and experiences in Scotland, where she. Dr, Kephart, and their Son and daughter spent the | school year 1930-31, Dr, Kephart, 'head of the Curry Training School of Woman's College of the Univer sity of North Carolina, having been at this time an assoc'ate professor hi the University of Edinburgh. The speaker’s charm of manner and many personal experiences made, hs talk a rare treat for her hearers, wh< also enjoyed the many beautiful pic tures which she showed.
