Such action had been expected,
since a report of the Board of En
gineers who Investigated the pro
ject some months ago indicated that

forthcoming. The engineers did not
hlnk the benefits that would accrue
irom a deoper, stralghter and wider
channel would be compatible with the
dxpense of the undertaking.
