Chocolate cake, sandwiches and a drink were served. BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Roy Daniel was hostess to her club Thursday afternoon. After bridge, sandwiches and drinks were served. Laymen In Charge Of Church Services In the absence of Methodist j pastors on Sunday, June 16, lay- j men were called upon by district lay leader W. A. McGirt to fill the church pulpits on that day. Capt. J. B. Church was at the Shallotte village church for the morning service. Mr. Purvis filled the pulpit at the Concord church j at Supply in the morning and at! Dixon's Chapel in the evening. C. Ed Taylor had charge of I three services. He was at An-! drews Chapel in the morning, at | Sharon in the afternoon and at; Shallotte camp for the evening j service. R. W. The laymen all reported successful meetings and members of their congregations declared that they had received real benefit from these sermons by church men who were filling in for their pastor.
