When she stops trying to deceive herself and the man she loves, she wins the things which she desires. "Alice Adams" is an unvarnished picture of the heartaches fac- j ed by thousands of girls who j seek to break loose from the fet- J ters imposed upon them by poverty and win social recognition. Katharine Hepburn gives to the part a wealth of subtle understanding and an appealing pathos that strikes right to the heart. B. , Hutson, farm administration tobacco division director, that 1936 plantings might be reduced considerably under certain conditions. A Hutson said the size of the current crop was still uncertain, and that reduction of next year's plantings would depend on the size of the 1935 crop and world consumption of the leaf. "In connection with the price situation for flue-cured tobacco, the question has been raised as to the probable plantings," Hutson said. "The 1935 flue-cured tobacco adjustment program provides for a reduction of not more than 35 per cent from the bases established in the contract. Whether the reduction will be the full amount authorized, or a lesser figure, will depend upon the size j of the 1935 crop and developments affecting world consumption." University Seeks n a ?
