With the rains apparently cess- j

authorities in Brunswick county ;
are now on their toes in the ]

An insignificant appearing j1

can soon assume such propor-; i

that now was the time when the J
wardens doubly appreciated the j
cooperation of the citizens in re- j
porting forest fires and aiding to
extinguish them. J

MOLD CONTROL
(Continued from Page 1)
leaflet then points out that since
experimental work on blue mold
began in 1932, satisfactory control
measures have been developed.
These methods are: (1.) paridichlorobenzene
fumigation, (2.)
benzol fumigation, and (3.) copperoxide
- oil spray. The results
if these experiments have shown
that . of the three, "parrdichlorobenzene"
fumigation and
:opper-oxide-oil spray have proven
most practical." For this reason
they are recommended and
the remainder of the bulletin is
ievoted to describing these two
nethods and how they best can
oe applied. In the description of
the "paradichlorobenzene" treatnent
the authors Dresent convinc
ng pictorial proof of their contusion
that, "this method gives
;xcellent control of blue mold in
;obacco seedbeds." The discussion
)f the spray treatment is also
freely illustrated and differs from
:he "paradichlorobenzene" treatment
not only in materials, application
and cost, but also in
:he results which show that "the
spray treatment does not completely
eliminate blue mold, but
mder conditions of mild attack
t will reduce blue mold to a
:race."
