After delicious refreshments of ruit salad, sandwiches and coca?!a , *'ere .sc ved. Miss Watson as taken into the dining room here a kitchen shower was preared. She received a number of xtractive and useful gifts, most I them following her color cheme of red and white. Those present were: Mesdames E. Carr. Harold St. George, red Willing, Prince O'Brien, e! . IRCLE NO. 1 Members of Circle No. 1 met at he home of Mrs. Laney Southermd on Monday evening, Decemer 7, with Mrs. Roy Daniels, iader. presiding over "the meetlg. Mr,s. L. Sellers led the devoional and Mrs. Carlton Price preented the program. As each member arrived she 'as requested to write her name n a slip of paper and place in box of Christmas gifts, and at he close of the meeting names :erc drawn and each one present eceived a gift. After singing Christmas Carols le meeting was turned into a tiristmas party. The rooms were ttractively aramged with Christlas decorations, and a jumbled '?rd contest in keeping with hristmas, was enjoyed, the prize eing awarded to Mrs. Lindsey iobbins. The most interesting and njoyable feature of interestainicnt during the evening was the Black-out" contest, each person eing given a hat of different tyle and type, and as all lights ere turned out the hats were onned in the dark. As the lights re re turned on again the appearnce of each person was very luch changed and many comical cenes were in view. Prizes were warded to Mrs. Carlton Price and Irs. John F. Potter in this eonest. The hostess served delicious inger bread with whipped cream s refreshments to the followig members present: Mrs. C. W. isborne, Mrs. M. C. Spencer, Irs. L. Sellers, Mrs. J. L. BAPTIST BANQUET Members or circles iso. r; i\o. 12 and No. 3 of Southport BapI tist church met together on Tuesday evening, December S, in ' the Church Annex for their ani nual banquet. A report of work done during the past year was read by the leader of each circle, after which announcement was made of work planned for the coming year, and the following were appointed circle leaders for 1943: Circle No. 1, Mrs. Lee Hewett: Circle No. 2, Mrs. Geo. Whatley; Circle No. 3, Mrs. Thompson McRackan. Mrs. Ruth Gay was appointed president of the Woman's Missionary Society to succeed Mrs, Thompson McRackan. Mrs. A. L. Brown presented to Mrs. McRackan a gift of appreciation from members of the three circles for the loyal and faithful service rendered by her as presidnt of th socity during the past year. Rev. A. L. Brown was the speaker for the evening and made ja very inspiring talk on the I "Great importance of Woman's ! Work in the Church." He comj mended very highly the great 1 work accomplished by the circle I members during the past year | of success. At the conclusion of | his talk a delicious turkey dinner | was served.
