BLACK WHITEVILLE Steady Growth In Valuation Tax Books For Brunswick County Have Reflected Steady Increase In Prop erty Valuation For Past Five Years J With nothing spectacular or J boomish happening, the records iof Tax Collector W. P. Jorgensen show a steady and gratifying in crease in taxable property in Brunswick county during the past ;five years. I To illustrate, according to the tax listing the total taxable pro pe: ty in Brunswick county in 1941 was $8,699,928. In 1942 these figures had grown to 58, ? 749,175. In 1943 a total of $9, 030,436 worth of property was ; listed and in 1944 the listing 1 jumped to $9,400,861. Last year, 1945, the listed property value ran to $9,847,010.00. This is an increase of $1,147, 082, in taxable property in the | county during the five years. This early figures for 1946 are, of course, not yet available. But, ! many people who are in the know about such things have been heard to predict that 1946 and 1947 will show a greater in cease in taxable property than any of the past five years. The encouraging thing about it is the fact that the county is slowly but surely paying up its bonded indebtedness. tient. Mrs. E. R. Danford, of Winna bow, entered as a medical patient on Sunday.
