Joint Hostesses For Local Club The May meeting of the South-j port Home Demonstration Club' j was held at the home of Mrs. G. I ;W. McGlamery, with Mrs. Mc-1 j Glamery and Mrs. Worth Ward j I serving as joint hostesses. With the meeting called to or-1 der, the song "Lead on O'King | Eternal" was sung. The collect i of the club women of America was repeated and the minutes of j the previous meeting read and j approved. The treasurer's report! was also received. Mrs. Ward and Mrs. Murley' Hood gave a very interesting re port on the National Federation meeting which was held in Wil mington. Miss Corinne Green reported that a flower show will be spon sored by the County Council and held at Bolivia. All of the clubs in the county will take part. Mrs. D. M. Davis gave a re port on home gardening. This report brought out very many interesting points in vegetable gardening as well as flowers. Mrs. Josie Easley gave a re port on the progress of the clean up and beautification program. Mrs. Hood was elected chair man of the ways and means com mittee. She will be assisted by Mrs. H. B. Smith, Mrs. Frank M. Niernse6 and Mrs. Robert Willis. It was decided that all persons Interested in entering the con test will mail their entries by postcard addressed to Mrs. Josie Easley, Southport, N. C. Post Office Box 884. By doing this a committee of two persons will visit those who send in entries and try and give them some ideas on how their property can be improved.
