MERCER-DANIELS The Franklin Memorial Meth odist church of Morehead City was the scene of the wedding of Miss Etta Daniels of Cedar Is land and Morehead City, and Donald Jenner Mercer of Bolivia now of Morehead City, on Satur day morning, May 15. The vows were spoken in front of an altar decorated with white gladioli and chrysanthemums. The Rev. Woodrow Cavinas, pas tor of the church, performed the double ring ceremony in the pre sence of the family and close friends of the couple. The bride's only attendant was her cousin, Mrs. Henry Van Horne. Miles Mercer, Jr., brother of the bridegroom was best man. Mrs. Van Horne wore an aqua crepe dress and a corsage of white carnations. ANNOUNCE ENGAGEMENT Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell Shaw of Fayetteville, announce the engagement of their daugh ter, Helen Martin Shaw, to Jerry M. Newbold, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Newbold of Wilming ton. The wedding will take place in the late summer. Mr. Newbold recently graduat ed from Union Theological Sem inary in Richmond, Va., and will be ordained during July at the First Presbyterian church, this city. Wells and son, Bil lie, attended the graduation ex ercises at Columbia College, Col umbia, S. C., during the week end. Mrs. John Gill of Rose Hill is visiting Mrs. C. Ed Taylor for a few days.
