The tradi ii "arches were used. i The bride who entered on the arm of her brother-in-law, Ira G. Fox, wore a French blue ga bardine suit with white acces sories. She carried a white Bible which was topped with a full bloom white rose and surrounded by white rosebuds and showered with white satin ribbon and white rose petals. Mrs. Alma Shomaker, sister of the bride, was matron of honor. She wore a pink gabardine suit with black accessories and a corsage of white roses. The bride's sister, Mrs. Grace Fox, wore a two piece black and white eyelet and linen dress with white accessories and a corsage of red roses. Homer Shomaker, brother-in-law of the bride served as best man and ushers were Jack Billings, nep hew of the bride and Tommy Greene both of Vilas. Following the ceremony, a re ception was held at the home of the bride. The bride's table was centered with a three tiered wed ding cake topped with a minia ture bride and groom and sur rounded by ivy and mock orange blossoms and flanked by lighted white candles. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Laura R. Shomaker, Mrs. Homer Shomak er, Mrs. Ira Fox and Miss Sarah Ellen Bridges. After the reception the couple left for a wedding j trip through North Carolina. Mrs. Redwine is a graduate of Cove Creek high school, Lee's McRae College and Appalachian State Teacher's College, and for the past year has been a mem ber of the Shallotte high school faculty. Mr. Redwine is a graduate o? Shallotte high school and served in the Army Air Forces in Eng land for four years. Out-of-town guests at ths wedding included Mrs. Essie i Hayes, aunt of the bride, and Miss Sarah Ellen Bridges, cousin of the bride, both of Knoxville,1 Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. Range Snod grass, cousin of the bride of Kingsport, Tenn.; Mrs. Emma Henson, aunt of the bride, of Mr. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Golsten, Bobby John and June of Banner Elk; Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Shomaker, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Shomaker, Miss Francaline Sho maker and Miss Katherine How ell all of Balm, and Miss Mickey Spittle of Monroe, N. C. HONOR VISITOR Mrs. R. D. St. George of Penns Grove, N. J., was guest of honor Thursday evening at a bingo par ty at the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. 5;. Smith. Miss Susie Newton i was hostess. Pierce, Jr., of Apex and Shallotte. Mr. Pierce is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Pierce, Sr., of Apex. Miss Redwine is a graduate of Shallotte high school and the Commercial Department of Campbell College. She has been employed in the office of Dr. W. E. Swain at Shallotte for the past year. Mr. Pierce is a graduate of the Apex litgh school. He served with the Navy and Marine Corps dur-1 ing the war. He is now with the Highway Safety Division as a Patrolman. The wedding will take place on August 15 at the Shallotte Bap tist church. After a short wed ding trip to the mountains the couple will make their home in Shallotte, where Mr. Pierce is now stationed. Mrs. Wolfe Is Club Hostess The Winnabow Home Demon stration Club held its regular meeting Thursday afternoon at I the home of Mrs. Hendrix Wolfe. In the absence of the president the vice-president, Mrs. A. P. | Henry, Jr., presided. She called the meeting to order with the opening exercises. This was fol lowed by the roll call and the treasurer's report. The business session was taken up in making plans for the annual picnic at Long Beach on August 21st. The poultry and garden leaders gave their reports. Miss Greene gave an interest-] lng talk on children's clothes. i Six members were present.1 These were Mrs. G. T. Reid, Miss Josie Reid, Mrs. Ruth Kye, Mrs. I E. W. Taylor, Mrs. Wolfe, Miss; Kate M. Johnson and one visitor, j Mrs. Fiske. The hostess, with the assist- i ance of her daughter, Mrs. j Young, served delicious refresh ments and after having a pleas ant social hour the club adjourn ed until the August meeting. AT LONG BEACH Edwin M. Sink, Greensboro real estate man, and his family are spending a week at Long Beach.
