Family Reunion i One of. the pleasing holiday: events occured at Shallotte oni December 23rd when the children, grandchildren and great-grand children of the late Mr. and Mrs. H. I. Bennett held a Christmas Party at the home of Mr. and i Mrs. Ernest Parker. The house was beautifully de corated throughout with native Christmas greens. Supper was served buffet style to the more than 50 members of the Bennett family who were present. Hundreds of gifts were distri buted from the beautiful Christ mas tree. As a climax many1 Christmas carols were sung. Among those attending from out of the community were Miss Betty Leonard, of the Baptist' Hospital Music School at Win ston* Salem; Ernest Parker, Jr., of the University of North Car olina at Chapel Hill and Miss Elba Ray Hawes of Meredith Col lege at Raleigh. Sillia-T horsen In a beautiful Christmas Eve ceremony. Miss Shirley Thorsen of Southport and Wilmington be came the bride of PFC David Gor don SilHa. of Cleveland, Ohio. The SOCI AL bride's pastor, Dr. J. M. Waggetti of Southport Presbyterian Church,) officiated. The wedding took place at the home of the bride's mother, Mrs. Anne Thorsen of Wilmington. The bride was given in marriage by her eldest brother, Olaf Thorsen. The best man was Pfc. Patrick Bettencourt, of Wilmington, a friend of the groom. Miss Hazel Ray of Wilmington acted as bridesmaid. A number of close friends and relatives witnessed the ceremony and enjoyed the re ception which followed. The bride and groom will make their home in Wilmington. Pfc Sillia is a member of the Armed Forces, stationed at Camp Lejeune Marine base. Mrs. Sillia is the granddaugh ter of Mrs. Blanche Larsen of Southport. PERSONALS Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Lewis of Durham spent the Christmas holi days here. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Brown and children of Raleigh are spending this week here with Mrs. C. Ed Taylor. Miss Thelma Sellers of Wash ington, D. C., spent the holiday week-end here with her family. Mr. and Mrs. E: J. Prevatte spent the Christmas week-end in Red Springs. Miss Josephine Moore of Fay etteville spent Christmas here with her family. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Parker and little daughter, Kvra Ann, spent part of last week in Bristol, Fla., with Mr. Parker's mother, Mrs. Mattie Parker. Major and Mrs. Fred Coving ton of Albany, Ga., have been spending the holidays here with Mrs. Covington's mother, Mrs. J. V. Davis. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn A. Kauser of Charleston have been spending the holidays here' with Mrs. Kauser's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Oliver. Mrs. YV. A. Spitzig left Mon day for her home in Norfolk, Va., after a three weeks visit here with her mother, Mrs. Bertha Bartels. E. H. Follett of Boston is spending several weeks here with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Bartels. Miss Barbara Hanson, of Char lotte, and Miss Mary Lou Han son, a student at the Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, Greensboro are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hanson. C. V. Davis and Harmon Ayres of Mt. Airy spent the Christmas week-end here with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. Will Davis. This was the first Christ mas in 27 yeears that Air. Davis' has spent with his parents. Edward Taylor of Woodruff, S. I C., is spending this week here! with his brother, Mrs. C. Ed Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. D. C.
