C. on the Supply road. Extensively engaged in truck crop growing at Long Island, the | Lindner's grew much of their ear ly truck crop plants in Brunswick j county last year, transporting them to Long Island by truck as soon as all danger of killing frost was over up there. Pleased with the results, they invested a considerable sum in a Brunswick county home and land and will produce all of their ear ly plants ' here. Until last year they relied largely on hot-house grown plants. Mr. Lindner says that the plants produced here were much stronger and healthier than the hot-house variety. They) were able to set them out in the! fields a great deal earlier than j they could set out the more tend erly reared product, without dan- [ ger of killing by frost. Hehe this winter and until the! very early spring, they will de vote themselves chiefly to grow- j ing lettuce, cabbage and pepper plants for the first year. They! will return to Long Island in the spring to look after their truck j farming. Work Continues On Plant Farm Everet H. Sheppard of Shiloh, N. J. is now back at his tomato plant producing farm on the River | Road. Along with clearing over 20 acres of land he is building three small residences on his pro perty. Bulldozers are being used to clear the land and it will be planted in watermelons this first year, the ground being too fresh for tomato plant production. The land being cleared now will be added to his tomato plant pro duction acreage next year and more land will be cleared next win ter for melons. This year his tomato plants for use on New Jersey tomato farms will be grown on land cleared last year and planted in water melons. The Sheppard farm is cocposed of 145 acres and it is planned to ultimately use all of it for the growth of tomato plants. News From Dosher Memorial Hospital R.
