High Times (By Cheor Leaders) As you all may know already [ our boys played Camp Lejeune | Tuesday afternoon here at the | local diamond and won with a i score 5-4. Camp Lejeune really j did give our boys a tough time and at the end of the 9 innings the score was tied, 4 to 4. They had to play another inning and 'Foul", (Billy McDow.ell) got a lucky hit which brought "Susie" (Bobby Spencer) in from third base to give Southport the vic tory. We can't forget the incident, either, which occurred between Brendle and Camp Lejeune third baseman. This was our first sche duled game for the season and our boys are off to a good start with Coach Sanders doing his best to get them in good shape. A group of Baptist young people greatly enjoyed a "back ward" party in the basement of the local church Friday night. Everyone was a sight with their clothes on backward, especially the boys. The refreshments were punch, cake, and peanuts. They were all good and especially the "April fool lemonade" which was of water and a piece of lemon. Everyone looked cute in their dunce hats and we all enjoyed the games. In fact, we enjoyed the whole party. To express our CATHOLIC INFORMATION He proved His Divinity! t Christ had not risen on the ti dav. He would not have ful-1 led the prophesies. He would I have kept His promise He ( n!d not have proved Hts God li-and on the fourth day Htianity would have been ?1 and forever buried. St had to rise from the dead! Id He did. On the thicd day the,| lily-guarded tomb was empty] i then He, whom they had B dead on the cross,' appeared | fcmdreds during the next forty, p- talked with them, ate with o. and finally, before their j s. ascended into Heaven. It those days nobody doubted j I He had risen. The enemies Otnst dared not deny it Tile Alts bv preaching it ponvert *000 in two days, and they i their successors established i Church throughout the en-1 [ civilized world in three cen *3. May the unbiased must accept |R things as historic facts. The erection is told and retold > | fee most attacked, and there- t s most proved, history of all, IB? the Scriptures. It is at W also by the non-Christian torian of the first century, fcus Joesphus, who, in report - I Christ's death and burial, ^ "He appeared alive again the third day." The humanly-impossible conver sion of the pagan world from its cult of pride, hate, greed, and lust, to the religion of humility, love, self-denial, and chasity, is written down by accepted pagan historians of those centuries. And reason tells us that this would not have been and;oouk) not have been, had not Christ risen from the dead to prove'His Godhead. ?Easter is the Feast of the' Res urrection?the Fea*t of the proof that Christ is Goa' and His reli gion divine. A glorious day, a joyous day, a vital day for him who was his creed secured by fact as well as faith! Fact?'! the Christians of the early ctnturies had them and us ed them 19 convert th* world. Christi^ps of today have these self-same facts which, if used in the same way, would'put to flight the false prophets of whom Christ warned, and finally bring this world of ours back to the feet of Him -w.ho rose from the dead to; prove Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life for every man. | If it's anything Catholic, ask a Catholic! For further information write! P. O. Box 351, Whiteville, N. C. thanks to the following' ladies: Miss Louise Rees, Mrs. Marjorie Livingston, Mrs. Ressie Whatley and Mrs. Margaret McRackan. Saturday morning about 7 o'clock we saw Karen Swan, Nancy Swan, Harriett Corlette, Patricia Adams, Mary Ann Loughlin and Janice Swan loading on the W. B. & S. bus heading for Wilmington. It was really a teen-age affair on the bus that day. They didn't do much shop -ping, but of course Nancy had to get a pair of shoes, Harriett and Easter hat, and Janice and Nancy baseball caps. We can't, wait until we can wear them. I After the great shopping spree, the show came next. Nancy and Janice would probably still be there if Karen hadn't dragged them out in time to catch the bus, but we all en joyed our trip to Wilmington. Here we go with this week's gossip and so forth . . We saw our trees infested with girls dur ing the baseball game Tuesday. In case you want to know, our monkey friends were, Karen Swm, Latitia Hickman, Janice Trumiel, Harriet Corlette Patricia Adams . . By the way, Janice Trunnel is our baby . . This week saw many of our local boys and girls over in Wilmington during the Azalea festivities. Friday night Southport was represented by Gloria HeWett and Elizabeth Lupton at the Teen-Age Ball. Saturday everybody was enjoying the parade. Several of our county friends were seen working,-their way through the crowd. We saw ' Scott McKeithan, "Bunkey" Bel lamy, Fay Hewlett,, all of 'Shal 'lotte. We also saw Lindsy Walton tajid Paul?better known a^ "Le iland* representing "Bolivia . ? We iwere awfully glad to hear from Ronnie Hood, our local boy who moved to Virginia. Thanks Ron nie . . We see our Seniors run tiin? That winds up the news for this week, Folks. The B-Hiue (By Two-Bettys) Students of Bolivia high school have been jp a state of excite ment durir^f the past week due to the Junior-Senior banquet on Saturday night. The juniors were running around all week, busy as bees in their efforts to make all necessary preparations for the banquet. As a result, the banquet went off with a bang-and we do mean bang!
