This week the main topic for
discussion at the Shallotte high
school has been the banquet that
was held in the gymnasium Fri
day night. Everything was beauti
fully decorated, witn lovely moss
hanging over the flowers and
trees. Even the birds could be
seen perched on limbs. It lookefl
like a garden from fairyland.
Under the overhead lights-many^
beautiful ijowns could be seen,^
^doming . charming wearers. The j
waitresses, dressed in pretty pas
tel colored 'dresses and white or""
gandy aprons, entertained with a

The fit-st thing that we have
to say this week is that the
seniors of Bolivia high school
would like to congratulate the
seniors of Southport for an ex
cellent entertainment Thursday
night, when they presented the
play "Tons of Trouble". Everyone
enjoyed the play very much and
we hope that ours may be done
as well when we go down to their
school. We are looking forward
to the big event. We'll keep you
posted on "The Bargain Bride",
which is the name of our play.
Twenty members of the eight
grade of Bolivia high school with
their teacher, Mrs. Rogers, en
joyed a trip to our State capital
Raleigh on Tuesday of the past
week. This trip proved very help
ful in their study of the history
of North Carolina. At the capitol
they saw the legislature in session
and happened to hear the bill
read concerning the Board of Edu
cation of Brunswick county. The
other places visited the Hall of
History, State Museum, Art
Museum, Revenue Office, State
College. Chief Justice Building,
State Penitentiary and Dix Hill.
It seemed rather nice not to
have any boys at school last
Thursday. They were off bright
and early to Willard, leaving us
girls a day of peace and quite.
Since many of you would like
to know how some of our girls
were dressed on Easter Sunday,

en's Beach. It was apparent that !
the entire membership of the Asso
ciation cordially and enthusiastical
ly entered into pledging support of
these projects for Brunswick. It
is up to local interests to press

day of February, 1949, called and ordered a regular Muni
cipal Election to be held on Tuesday, May 3rd, 1949, for
the purpose of electing a Mayor and a Board of five (5)

persons lawfully registered upon the present election books
