Miss Boone, accompanied j by Miss Bryant, sang, "I Love j You Truly" and "Always". The bride was escorted into' the church by her father Who gave her in marriage. Miss Pur vis wore a ballerina-length gown of white taffeta featuring a sweetheart neckline, scalloped waistline, sleeves ending in cal la lily points and fully gathered skirt. Her fingertip veil of Fre nch illusion was draped from a j half crown of pearl orange bios-1 soms ahd small calla lilies. She ( carried a white prayer book top ped with a pinkpetated orchid and showered with tuberoses tied with white ribbon. The groom's gift, a strand of pearls, was her only 'ornament. The bride's sister, Miss Mary Joyce Purvis of A?h, was maid of-hohor. She was attired in a gown of peach taffeta, deigned with a lace yoke and accented by a scalloped shoulder line. She wore a tiny cap of taffeta and matching mitts. Her full gathered skirt was balleHha-length and she carried a nosegay of mixed pastel flowers. Other bridal attendents, Miss Janet Brtfner and Miss M&rian Reeves, both of Salisbury, were dressed In Easter blue gowns, identical to that of the maid-of honor and held bouquets of mixed flowers. Mrs. Purvis, the bride's mother enhanced her navy blue d fesa with a corsage of white roses. Mrs. Trexler was dressed in gray cfrepe, black and pink ac cessories and a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom chose as his best man, his brother, John Wil liam Trexler. Serving as ushers were: Jesse A. Purvis, Jr., bro ther of the bride; Harold Melton, Jr., and L. B. Eller, Jr., both of Granite Quarry; and Lee Barger of Salisbury. Frederic Trexler, the groom's brother, was junior ush er. Immediately following the wed ding ceremoYiy, Mrs. Trexler changed for travel to a navy blue taffeta dress, navy accessories and white hat trimmed in navy, j She wore the orchid frotn her I prayer book as a corsage. The j couple motored on their wedding' trip to unannounced points. Up-1 on their return they made their j home at 109H Baron boulevard, j Lancaster, S. C. Mrs. Trexler attended Wacca- j maw and Rocky Mount highI schools. At Woman's college, Greensboro, Mrs. Trexler was a member of the Commercial club. Until recently, she held a position In the office of the N. C. Finish ing company. Mr. Trexler was graduated from Granite Quarry high school and studied at Catawba and King's Business colleges. C.; Mr. arid Mrs. Z. G. Ray of Win gate. Woman's Club The last business meeting of the Southport Woman's Club for year was held Wednesday in the Library. An Interesting feature of the meeting was the report Mrs. James M. Harper, the pre sident gave on the State Feder ation meeting at GOldSboVo in April. She described the incoming and outgoing State Federation Presidents and told of the force ful personality of Mrs. Bflck, National Federation President. Members of the club also de cided that the club Flower be changed from golden rod to Aza lea. The meeting Was adjourned to convene again in September House Party The juniors of Southport high school had an enjoyable house party at Holden's Beach during the week-end. The group left Southport about 1:30 Friday, packed in three cars like sardines. They arrived at the beach about 2:30. After cleaning the house and putting screens in the win dows, the girls and boys sat down to a wonderful supper of baked beans, slaw, hot-dogs, drinks and, most important, Lena War's chocolate cake. : . Af ter., guBBgr ... they amused tttemselves by_ .walking ?long the beach and enjoying the cool breeze. While part of the, girls were curling their hair getting ready to get their beauty sleep the jjioys wentvon the beach, with flashlights Jchaalng sand-crabs. After breakfast, all were seen walking down, to the Inlet. On the way back, crabs were found and taken to be cooked for lunch. Finally getting home, about half went swimming to cool off. Then while the juniors were taking a good sun-bath the grade-mothers were preparing lunch. After lunch everyone- tuned in 0 Joe and Jihi my Cox over WMFD. Finally sup per was served and all enjoyed the meal. A little later Billy McDowell was missed and was found enjoying himself on an air plane ride. The class returned to Southport about 7:45 Saturday night. The members want to ex press their many thanks to the grade-mothqfs, Mrs. W. B. Ward, Mrs. G. W. Fisher, Mrs. P. G.. Hickman and Mrs. M. T. Mc Rackan. Given Shower On Saturday Mrs. Nettie Krtox of Bolivia honored her daughter, Mrs. Harold Ray Lewis, With a stork shower. Games were played and the honoree received many very love ly gifts. PERSONALS Mr. fcnd Mrs. Bob Wingate of Jacksonville, Fla., are spending the week here with her sister, Mrs. Archie Evans. Mrs. C. C. Cannon of Durham spent the past week with friends in Southport. Mrs. Earl Brown and son, Ralph have returned to their home in Raleigh following an extended visit here With Mrs. C. Ed Taylor. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Herring and' children spent Sunday in Fayette-! ville with his parents. __ Mr. and Mrs. W, S, Wells spent the past week-end in Raleigh whefre Mr.. Wells attended the 25th anniversary of his class. Mrs. I. B. Bussells is visiting relatives in Amhurst, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Roy McKeithan, of Sanford spent the week-end J here with Mr. and Mrs. H. W. ?? Hood. Mrs. D.'J.
