Entertain Faculty The Parent-Teacher Association of the Bolivia high school recent ly entertained the faculty and Parent Teacher Association mem bers at a supper in the lunch room. The luftch room was very at tractively decorated with sweet peas and roses. The supper con sisted of tomato cocktail, chicken salad on lettuce and tomatoes, garden peas, creamed potatoes With gTavy, hot rolls, butter, tea, cake, strawberries and ice cream. The fun of the Evening started when each one had to draw a sfip to see what he would do. Some of the men were not very fortunate for they had to clear tables, wash and dry dishes. The film of the Bolivia May Day ex ercise was also shown. A very enjoyable time was had by every one. Mrs. Swain Hostess To Winnabow Club The Winnabow Home Demon stration Club met on Thursday with Mrs. Julia E. Swain. Mrs. GHbert R?d called the meeting to order. The "Old North State" was sung. Business was taken up, the roll was called and financial state ments were given. A discussion oh the best way to control mosquitoes and a discus sion on flower arrangements <ve're held. It was announced that the flower show will be held at South port Saturday, June 4th. The poultry and garden leaders gave their reports. Miss Confine Green demon strated different ways of prepar ing cabbage, c (Joked and as a salad. The hostess served delicious re freshments during- the social hour. Eight members were present: Mrs. Swain, Mrs. Ruth Kye, Mrs. A. P. Henry, Sr., Mrs. Gilbert Reid, Misses Bertha and Josie Reid, Mrs. E. W. Taylor and Miss K. M. -Johnson, Miss Jane Ried was ti visitor. The club adjourned to meet with Mrs. J. M. Waggett of Southport on June 30th. Sharon Women Work tor Church The Woman's Society of Chris- 1 tian Service of Sharon Methodist ^hutch near Supply had its regular meeting in the church on May 12. J Mrs. J. W. Lancaster opened the meeting with a song, "The Way of the CrOss Leads Home." The scrip ture reading was by the members responsively. Mra Carvin Roach had a very Interesting program. Those who had part in this and the subjects were: "Our Church School Super intendent," Mrs. Sam Lewis, Mrs. J. M. Roach, Mrs. J. W. Kirby, j Mrs. Lillie Ma'e Roach and Jfrrs. Bedford Ludlum. Mrs. Clyde He wett closed the meeting with a prayer. Representing the society, Mrs. Carvin Roach, Mrs. J. M. Roach, Mrs. J. W. Lancaster, Mrs. R. E. BeHamy, Mrs. Bedford Ludlum, Mrs. T. H. Phelps and Mrs. Sam l<ewis went to WananrSh to a busi ness meeting Wednesday. They re ported a Very enjoyable trip. Bear Kills Cow, And Gets Rilled AHbtor Little Of Greek Swemip Slays Raider After Bear Had Consumed Part Of Milk- Producer Bear hunting is out-of -season but Arthur Little of the Green Swamp section killed a bear. And he didn't object to the game pro tector kn owning about it. The bear killed Little's cow, ate a good portion of the milk pro ducer, and got killed in return. The flight and hanger decks of the huge carrier were used to transport the Staff Headquarters men, equipment and office files, of the Commander, Air fc\)We, Pacific Fleet, and two other units from Pearl Harbor to San Diego, California.
