Mrs. Helen Kelly and daughters, Helen and Ann, are spending this week at Carolina Beach with Mr; and Mrs. Jack Lake. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Arnold had as their week-end guests their daughter, Mrs. R. V. Smith, Mrs. Cecelia Ponton and George Smith all of Richmond, Va. Mr. and Mrs. Willie Swain and daughter of Wilmington visited Mrs. L#e Aldridge over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Walker and little son, Danny, of Wilmington spent last week here with Mr. Walker's mother, Mrs. W. H. Walker. DR. HOWARD HARDEE LEAVES FOR BELGIUM Dr. Howard Hardee, brother of Lewis J. Hardee, sailed for Anter werp, Belgium, Friday. This will be his last stop before proceed ing to Belgium Congo, Africa, for four years as a Medical Mis sionary in the Methodist hospit al at that place. Dr. Hardee graduated in medi cine and surgery at Tulane Uni versity and served his Internship at the Charlotte Memorial Hos pital. From there he went to a | responsible position In the hospit al at Tampa, Fla. With the urge to serve as a Methodist Medical Missionary in Africa, he gave up his position at Tampa and entered the Methodist Missionary school at Hartford, Conn. Graduating there some time ago he has since been busy with preparations to go aboard. Re cently while In South port visit ing his brother he spoke at the South port Baptist church.
