PHONE 511 Western Prong HD Club The first meeting of the Wes tern Prong Home Demonstration Club was held May 19, 1947 at the home of Mrs. Wilson Ed wards. Fifteen interested women of the community were present to hear Nan Ratliff, Home Agent, explain the aims and goals of the club. Officers named were: Mrs. James Callihan, president; Mrs. j J. L. Robinson, vice president; Mrs. John Powell, secretary; Mrs. V. D. Brown, treasurer. Meetings were held in the | homes of various members until a 'community hut for Western Prong was built in July, 1948. Mrs. Grady Jordan served as president and Mrs. L. D. Weavil was named treasurer in 1948 and other officer% were reelected. The present slate of officers Is as follows: Mrs. Grady Jordan, president; Mrs. Wilson Edwards, vice president; Mrs. Joe Brown, secretary;. Mrs. L. P- Weavil, treasurer; Mrs. Thelma Gurkin, publicity chairman. Projects leaders are: Mrs. Mar garet Weavil, Foods and Nutri tion; Mrs. Wilson Edwards, Home Gardens; Mrs. J. L.
