PLENTY OF RAIN The Supply community had plenty of rain and quite a severe electric storm Saturday morning and again Monday morning. As much as three inches of rein are said to have fallen. Other sect ions of the county got only light showers. Unexpected Luck Catching Bear Inquisitiveness Costs Free dom For Black Bear Which Had Been Raidinf Corn Field Rather unexpectedly to himself Landreth Phelps of the Juniper Creek community caught a big black bear in a trap Saturday morning. The bear had been damaging the Phelps cornfield and a trap was placed in the field about ten days ago Some days went by without the bear again invading the field. Not wishing to bother with inspecting the trap every day, Mr. Phelps covered it over wifh a large piece of tin to await a better day for catching bear. Two days later on Saturday he was nefcr the trap and decided to look and fee if it was still covered up. Getting within a hundred feet the tin appeared to be just as he had left it at the trap and he was turning away when he saw a big black, bear standing in the corn about ten feet from the trap had been placed. Killing the bear before inves tigating, Mr. , Phefps discovered that the bear had , evidently lift id the tin to see , what was un der neath. Ita right foot 'gpf. caught in the trap and it jumped back, dragging out trap and anf chor and letting the tin fall bac^ where it* had i>e*?. ' The same mofning- Shirley Woodard w?nt to look at a tra| that he held set in his corrffipjo where bear* had beep doing mue| damage. When you match a friend for a drink it is a matter of small importance whether you guess right or wrong. But there are some decisions you can't afford to make on a head-or-tails basis. Selecting a bank is one of them. Now, when the use of credit is becoming more important, it is essential that you select a dependable bank. A bank that is willing and able to help you when you need help, and on fair and reasonable terms. And, above all, a bank strong enough to stay with you in bad times, or good. If you are interested in such a bank, we invite your consideration to our 23 years experience here, to more than $1,000,000. in capital funds, and to ample resources.
