The three-tiered wedding cake, bar.k ed by ivy and topped with a miniature bride and groom, was on one end of the table; at the other end was the punch bowl encircled by ivy. Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Saunders greeted guests at the door; and Mrs. E. V. Leonard kept the bride's book. Mrs. B. A. Sabiston presided in the gift room. Pre siding at the punch bowl was Mrs. Robert Hawes, sister-in-law of the bride. Others assisting in serving were Mrs. Douglas Hawes, Mrs. D. G. Hewette, Mrs. Ernest Parker and Miss Billie Kate Leon ard. Later in the afternoon the cou ple left for a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. They are now at home in Boiling Springs. The bride was graduated from Shallotte high school and attend ed Meredith College in Raleigh for three years. The bridegroom was graudated from Western Carolina Teachers College $nd later completed three years of graduate study at Duke University. He was awarded the degree of Master of Arts and is now a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Present ly he is serving as a member of the faculty of Gardner-Webb College at Boiling Springs. News From Dosher Memorial Hospital Ernest Swain of Bolivia enter ed on Monday as a medical pat ient. Master Laverne Mintz of Shal lotte was a surgical patient from Tuesday until Thursday. Mrs. Melisie Clemmons of Boli via spent Tuesday until Thursday as a surgical patient. Miss Lettie Hickman of South port entered as a surgical pat ient on Tuesday. Mrs. G. C. Kilpatrick of South port spent Tuesday until Sunday as a medical patient. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Cheers of Shallotte announce the birth of a son on Wednesday. Mrs. Mae Beck of Southport entered on Wednesday as a surgi cal patient. Mrs. Ruth Rivenbark of Bolivia entered as a surgical patient on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hewett of Ash announce the birth of a son on Thursday. Master Gerald Thomas Fulford of Shallotte spent Thursday until Friday as a surgical patient. Mr. and Mrs. George Blizzard of Acme announce the birth cf a son on Friday. Master Leon Arnold Smith of Southport spent Friday until Sat urday as a surgical patient. Mrs. Delta Gray of Shallotte entered as a medical patient on Friday. W. G. Dawkins of Winnabow ' entered on Sunday as a medical patient. Birthday Party Mrs. T. L. Toler honored her son Bobby Toler with a birthday party on his third birthday on j August 20 at her home. They spent a very enjoyable afternoon.
