Roselli told the board he has been in formed Brunswick County's program is the largest in the nation. • The board scheduled a public hearing Tuesday, January 2, 6 p.m., on proposed zoning amendments, one of which would allow commer cial use of the property between Coastal Estates subdivision and South Trace subdivision off Long Beach Road. • Collier asked county manager Jimmy Vamer to schedule a commis sioners’ retreat in January. • County attorney Mike Ramos told the board a proposed agreement has been drafted to resolve the county’s funding dispute with L. Robert Kimball and Associates, but asked the board to table discussion of the pro posal until the next board meeting Monday, December 18. Geographic Information System (GIS) director Steve Randone was not at Monday night's meeting, and Ramos said he was not qualified to answer the board’s technical ques tions about the proposed agreement. The county is trying to collect $425,283 it may have overpaid the company as part of a $2.25-million contract for the company to provide aerial photographs and topographic and soil maps for the GIS system. • Commissioners appointed Lewis Shaw and Shirley Waggoner Eisenman to the Town of Shallotte’s planning board as extraterritorial ju risdiction members, and appointed Dr. William Vail to the Brunswick County Board of Health. • Commissioners held a closed ses sion for a briefing from Ramos on lawsuits filed against the county by register of deeds Robert Robinson, former commissioners chairman Pearly Vereen and former clerk to the board Regina Alexander. The traditional vesper service in the ruins of St Philip’s Church was held Sunday in conjunction with the Brunswick Town-Fort Anderson Christmas open house and celebration.
