(Continued from first page.) know that his aged father and uncle had returned in good health after having the "time of their lives , 1 gleaned the prece ding facts of the family gathering. .1 sought more prosaic information. .Mr. Millikan told me iu answer to ny inquiry, that it seemed just like home folks out there. The eating and cooking was the good old time country tort, plenty of it and on hand all the time in good old Randolph style. Besides his immediate kin, the names of visitors and neighbors were familiar, there being Cobles, Staulkers, Hinshaws, Gardners, Brileses and Foxes a plenty. The cottatry was just one big neighbor hood village out there. Farms were in squares of 80 acres, few owning more, and everybody' was in holler ing distance of eaeh other. These lands, not for sale, when sold .rought from $100 to $125 an acre. The principal crop was corn, which was largely fed to hogs, cat tle and hoisei. Generally a farmer would plant frooi ten to fifteep acres only in coin, getting abont a thousand bushels. This he would feed to the stock being railed for market, the balance of the land We il. g set to hay or pasture to raise the stock on. Ten yers ago these In diana lands could be bought for $50 au acre. The Illinois farmers, where lands were selling for $125 per acre, findiag that Indiana lands were juat as good and cheaper, took to selling their lands and moving over to Indiana. This raised prices of lands until now they were as high as the Illinois lands. "It's a fine country, I tell you", rxolaimed the Marshal, "but I had rather take my chances in North Carcliaa for a steady diet." The old settlers are still Quakers or Friends, they and their descendants sticking to farm ing. On last Tuesday, while in We;8t field, Marshal Millikan Mir one of the St. Louis racing balloons lly over the town, at an altitude so high that it looked a-lxnit. the size of a Hour barrel, and going at a rapid rate. The whole country was ex cited over the races, and an immense crowd ou tne watch for some of the balloons were rewarded with this sight of one at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning. MAKE IT YOURSELF. This simple recipe is said to strengthen and cleanse the elimina tive tissues ot the Kidneys so that they on filter and strain from the blood and system the poisons, acids and waste matter, which cause not nly rheumatism, but numerous other diseases. Every man or wo mau heie who feels that their kid neys are not healthy and active, or who suffers from any nrinary trou ble whatever, should net hesitate to make up this mixture, as it is cer tain to do iruch good, and may save you from much misery and suffer, ing after while.
