Whitney Plant Sold Thi partially completed hydro, electric plant of the North Carolina Electrio and Powtr company, auo ceasora of the old Whitney company, has been pnrchaaed by a French company and with the plant go houses and a portion of tbe land at Whitney. The purchase price is 1750.000 in cash and $500,000 in stock of the Southern Aluminum company which latter company will be orgauized with a capital stock of $8 0UO.0G0. They will build alumi num works and utilize for this en terprise the uncompleted Whitney hydro-electric development. The old Whitney company expended more than $1,000,000 for its pur chases and tbe development of its plant before it went into the hands of the North Carolina Electrio and Powi r oompany. This company re tains 7,200 acres of land in Whitney and along the Yadkin river, also gold mine and quarry property in this section and lands in Virginia. Mr. Bryan at Chicago W. J.
