Randleman Ites. Dolph Heath and his brother John left Saturday for Lexington to ac cept a position at one of the mills at that place. We don't mourn as those who have no hope for we think they will soon return. From the looks of our stores it seems that people buy more eggs at 25c a deozen than at 20, for the stores have plenty. This is called hen in dustry. Don't wait for wealth your father's got, Shell off your duds and hustle. Mr. Filmore Hayes who has a posi tion at High Point with some factory spent Saturday night and Sunday with his family here. Mr. M. S. Russell died at HiSh Point Monday morning. He will be buried at Franklinville Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Sam Coble, the farm demon strator of this county, was in the city Thursday. Sam's a good one. The Baraca class of St. Paul met at the M. E. parsonage Friday nitrht to transact business for their class. That is a good class of boys and they will be glad to welcome others. Como and be with them. John Spivey has accepted a posi tion with the Deep River Mill No. 1. Mr. S. W. Walton who lias been at High Point for some time came home Monday night much improved in health. Mr. Charlie Kirkman's lttle boy is right sick with pneumonia on High Point street. Mr. Charlie Allred's little girl Margie has had quite a fight with pneumonia. Glad to say that she is improving. The sale of Mrs. Sinclair's property on Main street Saturday was good. The children derived a good price for for each item sold. Mr. Worth Ivey of High Point is in town visiting his father and moth er Mr. and Mrs. Will Ivey and others. Mr. Ab Helpler of Greensboro cams in Sunday evening the guest of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Robbins. The Rev. Mr. Brown, pastor of the Christian church came Saturday. Preaching Saturday night, Sunday at 11 o'clock and Sunday night. Mr. Brown is quite a promising young man of Elon College. Mr. Clifford Pugh has purchased the pressing outfit of Jesse Swaim and will run a pressing club upstairs over the bank. There must be something doing about Ceder Falls or Central Falls as Joseph Nanre went down again Saturday and returned Sunday Listen. Messrs W. H. and J. O. Pickard of near Huffman's came up Saturday, staying over Sunday with their moth er, Mrs. J. 0. Pickard. Mr. Richard Maner and Miss Mc Dowell of Franklinville were on our streets Sunday. Mr. J. E. Chandler, of Proximity, has rented the W. C. Robbins house on School street and will open up an up to date pressing club.. Mr. Mayfield Briles has purchased a nice High Point buggy. Mr. J. L. C. Russell who has been for quite a while with the Hayes com pany here, has accepted a position with Mr. C. L. Brookshire in his grocery store. Mr. Lawrence York of San Fran cisco spent Saturday night and Sun day with Mr. Henry Vestal. Mr, York is the son of Mr Clark York of Central Falls. This is the first time Mr. York has been home in four years. Mrs. Lou Fox came in Wednesday irom High Point hospital not verv much improved, sorry to say. Mr. Fields Brown's child has been right sick, but glad to say it is better, Mr. Ross Wood has accepted a dosi- tion as clerk for L. M. Caudle on Main street. Miss Farabee. one of the school teachers of our graded school, who has been sick at the hospital here for quite a while. Dr. Wilkerson dismiss ed her and she left for her home t'rl day evening. Miss Maude Miller visited Miss Ve lora Perdue Sunday. Mr. Rose Parrish from Turners and Miss Ora from Davidson were visitors at Mr. Perdue s Sunday. Messrs. Will Fullen, Lonnie Sprink le, Charile Coble and Carl Hicks were right much disappointed last Satur day night when they went out on their trip to the Apron party and lost con trol of their machine. They were not hurt very mucn. Mr. and Mrs. George Floyd were at Mr. Williams Sunday. Mrs. Julia (J. Fullers is in High Point at this writing. , J. he school is progressing nicely un der the management of Miss Maggie Albertson. She seems to be an ex cellent teacher. The infant of Mr. and Mrs. John Harris died Friday and was buried Sunday at Tabernacle. Mr. Howard Parrish went to Wav Side last Sunday, and reported a nice time. Mr. and Mrs. Bun rowler returned home last week from a several days visit in Greensboro with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Coltrane of West- field, Ind., arrived in town last week for an extended visit with relatives and friends, throughout the county. Mrs. K. V. Patternson, who has been confined to her room for several weeks with rheumatism is not much improved at this writing. Master Clayburn Dark, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Western Randolph News. The farmers ofthis community are preparing their land for a large to bacco crop. Mr. C. C. Frazier has got a very serious case of lagrippe. Miss Sallie Walsh, who has been visiting her sister, Mrs. J. W. Fra zier, for the past year, left last week for her home at Lenoir, N. C. Mr. W. H. Vestal visited his son in Thomasville last Sunday. There was another spelling bee pulled off at Prospect Wednesday night, the spelling was enjoyed by the large audience that attended. Mr. J. P. Reddeck bought a two hunder acre farm of Mr. E. H. Wood of High Point last week. Mrs. H. H. Frazier visited Mrs. C. W. Wilson one day last week. C. W. Wilson made a business trip to Greensboro last week. Plowing is the order of the day now. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Reddeck visited with Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Swaim of Thomasville last Sunday. Mr. I. B. Reddick is very ill with tne measles, we are sorry to say. Mr. J. W. The fire was said to have oiiginated by a spark from the smokestack. Mr. G. M. Hoover and brother are at the head of the concern.
