Had it not been for the emergency break Southbound passenger train No. 29 loaded with passengers would have gone to destruction near Reidsville last Sautrday. The train was run ning at 40 miles an hour when an iron bar was found on the switch. The brake was applied and the train slow ed down before it was thrown from the track.
