He made the parents feel their responsibility for the early impression in the home and their lives before their children. Thomas, Mrs. Corena Thomas and Mr. Bank Thorn-j as spent Sunday at High Point. Mrs. Rebecca Craven, who has been in feeble health for several months, died Thursday evening at the home of her son. R. S. Craven, being 88 yean 9 months and 14 days old. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Moon and was married to the late j Robert Craven January 18, 1S4!). To this union were born three sons, Mon roe, R. S. and Madison Craven, ol which but one son, R. S. Craven, sur- j vives. Her husband preceded her 50 . years ago. At the age of 22 she pro- fessed religion and joined Pleasant Grove Christian church, of which she j remained a faithful member, giving 66 years of her life to the service of Christ. Sunday morning after the funeral services were conducted by j Rev. Mr. White, of Ramaeur, the re mains were tenderly laid to re?t in the Craven cemetery near her old home in Coleridge township. The score was 4 to 2 in favor of Farmer. Mrs. J. W. Trevost is on the sick list. The child of Mr. and Mrs. Willie McDonald died last Friday and was buried Saturday in the cemetery. May God be with the bereaved ones and comfort them. Messrs. Joe Wall, Worth Ivey and Ralph Russell, of Randleman, were visitors at Mr. W. A. Jennings' Sun day evening. The Riverside Mills shut down last Friday and Saturday to do some re pair work on the water house. With this exception, the mill has been run ning on full time. Several people from here attended the ball game at Asheboro Saturday. Mr. W. H. Dean has started out on his round threshing wheat. On next Saturday, July the 3rc, Worthville will have two games oi ball with Farmer, one at 10 o'clocK, and the other in the afternoon at 3 o'clock. These games will make ou the series of games, one of the games ivas played last Saturday at AsheDom, in which Farmer won. This was the second game the Worthville boys havt lost this season. Both Worthville and Farmer have good teams .and tno game will be interesting. This will decide the contest between Worthville and Farmer. On Saturday night the Athletic As sociation will givo a lawn party and box party at the park. The proceeds will go to the benefit of the ball team. Everybody is cordially invited.
