York went to Liberty on bi-siness last Saturday night. Mr. O. R. Chisholm, of New York, and his mother of Sanford spent Sun day at Ramseur. Their many friends were delighted to see them again. Rev. H. C. Byrum filled his first appointment at the M. E. church here last Sunday, preaching a very con vincing and helpful sermon to the text, "I determined not to know any : thing among you save Jesus Christ and him crucified." Miss Hattie Brooks of the place was happily married to Mr. George Pick ett, of near Siler City, last Sunday night at the home of Mr. Charles Brooke, the bride's brother. Mr. C. r. Weatherly attended the Laymen's meeting at Greensboro last week and returned home Saturday in his automobile which he purchased while r.way. Mr. W. D. Pender, our splendid de pot agent, is not only efficient in his work and polite to every one he meets but takes great pleasure in keeping his office decorated with pictures and the most delicate winter flowers that he can secure and his last se lection, which he is very proud of, is an imported variety of the narcissus family. Mr. Pender thinks the new variety will prove quite a boon and will be delighted to show them to all lovers of fragrant flowers. Mr. H. T. Parks recently slaughter ed a 454 pound hog which was one of the largest yet slaughtered in this community. FARMER NOTES Dr. Weaver, presiding1 elder of the Greeasbora district, M. E. Church. The weather was so unfavora ble that the uudieru'e was small. Rev. J. B. Trogdon and wife enter tained a few of their friends at supper on Thursday night of last week. Those present were Rev. C. E. Sted man and Mrs. S. R. Stedman, Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Kearns, Misses Linnie Shamburger, Adna Lamb, Calllie Vun cannon and Hope Hubbard, and Dr. and Mrs. C. C. Hubbard. -The supper was enjoyed by all, as was also the social and music which followed. Mr. Trogdon expects to move his family to his farm on Asheboro R. F.'D. No. 1, in the near future, as he was sent by the recent conference of the M. P. church to Richland circuit. He and his family have made many friends sinee coming to Fanner and we re gret to see thera leave. Mrs. Louisa Macon was recently elected superintendent of the Concord Sunday school, and Mr. T. C. M. Vuncannon, Route 2. r Mr. James Hammond has recenuy moved to the farm belonging to r.. G. T. Macon, in order to get the bene-; fit of the school for his children. A nice monument has recently been erected in the Dorsett plot in cemetery here to the late I. M. D sett and his son, George W. Detu It is one of the nicest bow in the cem etery, and is the work of the Bar08 Marble Works, of High Point.
