DOUBLE WEDDING
The M. P. parsonage at Coleridge
was the scene of a quiet wedding last
Thursday night when Miss Lecta
Cheek became the bride of Mr. Bernice
Smith, and Miss Rosa Garner the
bride of Mr. J. F. Deaton. The cere
mony . was quietly and impressively
performed by Rev. R, L. Melton' in
the presence' of a few intimate friends
f the contracting parties. The-young
people are very popular among a wide
circle of friends at Coleridge -where
they will make their future heme.

Miss Annie Lew Smffh,' of Dillen,
S. C, is among the many visitors in
town for the holidays.
Mr. D. H. Cameron, who had
stroke of paralysis Dec 16th, is some
what improved. Mr. Cameron was
struck while down street and had pres
ence of mind enough to find the way
home and was able to walk about two
hundred yards. He also knew what
had happened to him at once and told
his family as he walked in home that
he had a stroke of paralysis. His
physician, Dr. Shepard, thinks he will
be able to get out again.
Miss Hazel Reece, music tcaeher in
Biscoe graded school, is home for the
week.
Mrs. A. A. Wagner was here last
week from Sanford to be with her
father, D. H. Cameron, who is con
fined to his room.
Dr. F.crl Bowman, of McDonald, N.
C, spent Xmas holidays with his
mother, Mrs. Josie Bowman.
Dean Thompson, who teaches in the
western pnrt of the State, is a wel
come visitor in our town' this week.

Miss Mary Griffin, who teaches
school near Kerncrsville, is the guest

Miss Nellie McCowan, trained nurse
of Greensboro, visited friends here
last week.
Dr. J. W. Coltrane, who has been is
Baltimore the past summer at the
Medical College, is home' on a visit
for two weeks. Dr. Coltrane will
finish his course this spring, 1916, if
his health permits. For two ycurs his
health has been such that it was im
possible for him to finish his work.
Mr. and Mrs. Ross Teague, of Ral
eigh, are visiting relatives for the
holidays.
Liberty has spent a very quiet and
enjoyable Xmas. Everybody seemed
to wear smiles on their faces since
Santa Claus passed through leaving
numbers of Xmas gifts in each home
for both young and old.
Miss Maude Staley, niece of Bill
Staley, underwent quite a serious op
eration at St. Leo's Hospital last week.
Last reports were that Miss Staley is
getting on nicely and Dr. Staley
thinks she will return home soon.
Miss Allien Curtis is home from the
State Normal College, Greensboro, for
the holidays.
Miss Eugenia Rush, who has been
in training at Washington, N. C, is
home on a visit. Miss Rush finished
her course two years ago in Wash
ington and has been doing work in
Greenville since that time. Thursday
she loaves for Texrs where she lias
taken work in a hospital.
Misses Hazel and Emily Reece were
visitors in Greensboro last Friday.

The M. P. parsonage, Randleman,
was the scene of a very enjoyable oc
casion Dec. 22nd, 8:30 p. m. when Mr.
A. M. Barker and Miss Julia Farlow
were united in marriage, Rev. J. B.
O'Briant officiating. Both the con
tracting parties are of Randleman and
will moke their future home here.

man throughout the surrounding coun
ties and is held in high esteem by all
who know him. The bride is a lady
of refinement and is very popular
among a large circle of friends.

The Christmas tree, which was un
der the management of the Sunday
School on Friday night last, was en
joyed by all the little folks, and the
older people found the children's fun
very pleasant. A short program of
songs and recitations was given, and
Rev. C. E. Stedman made a talk to the
chihb'en.
We do not realize how many of the
Farmer young people are away in
school, teaching, or in business until
they come home for Christmas.
