A mass meeting was held in the Baptist Church of Brevard on Friday night, February 20th, in behalf of temperance in our town and state, After a short devotional exer cise Z. W. Nichols was asked to take the chair. Rev. I. T. New ton offered resolutions support ing the London bill and request ing our representative to sup port same. The resolutions and temperance generally were ably discussed by Pastors Douglas, Chapman, Moore and Newton and by lay members oi‘ the churches.
