Sanders made a business trip to Brevard the lirst of this week. Miss Annie Alexander, of Sa lem, S. C., visited friends and relatives in this section last week. The people of this section are, generally, taking more interest in schools this year than com mon. Mrs S. L. Sanders visited her daughter, Mrs. Sam McCall, of Gloucester, last Saturday and Sunday. Jake Miller wlio has been in the far west for several years, is visiting his father, Henry Miller, of this section. Work about Lake Toxaway is almost completed and hands have been leaving almost daily for the ])ast two weeks. We are glad to note the prog ress of Broad Valley Institute and hope tliat some may attend the school from this section. Terrell Middleton who has charge of the public school at Hogback visited his home in the Broad Valley section last Sat urday. We hear that there is to be a series of meetings started at Union church next Sunday. We hope that much good may be ac com pli shed. The warm sunshine and show ers of the past two weeks, have caused “Snowball” to bloom again. We hope it will stay in bloom till frost, at least. Abe Low and his mother, who have been staying at the home of S. L. Sanders for the last while, moved to South Carolina last week, accompanied bv Lensy Sanders, who will stay with them. Abe has been in “Uncle Sam's*” army since LSU4 until last year. He was one of the boys who stormed Santiago daring the war with Spain. Best wishes to Editoi’s and readers.
