A *OU.\G IjA I>Y'S LIFEBAVEI) At Panama, Colombia, by Chamberlain's Colic, Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. Dr. Chas. H. Utter, a promi nent physician, of Panama, Co lombia, in a recent letter states : "Last March I had as a patient a young lady sixteen years of age, who had a very bad attack of dysentery. Everything I prescribed for her proved inef fectual and she was growing worse every hour. Her parents were sure she would die. She had become so weak that she could not turn over in bed. What to do at this critical mo ment was a study for me, but I thought of Chamberlain's colic, cholera and diarrhoea remedy and as a last resort prescribed it. The most wonderful result was effected. Within eight hours she was feeling much bet ter ; inside of three days she was upon her feet and at the end of one week was entirely well." For sale by Hood & Grantham. — OASTOniA., JOHN A. MCKAY. Thesa expressions don't come from so called McKinlev democrats eith er, but from prominent leaders who have been earnest in their support of the Chicago and Kan sas City platforms. Political parties like armies fight battles to win and an army that is al ways losing wili soon be com pletely depleted and left with not force enough to do guard duty, so with a political party that undertakes to win with dead issues, they will contin ually he defeated and every de feat loses them thousands of votes. This has been the ex perience of the democratic party of recent years, they have made their campaigns on some dead issues and advocated some men and measures that the great business interests of the coun try have been afraid of and the consequence has been that they have not only been defected, but have failed to get the support of some of the best men in their ranks. What the party needs to do is to get its best thought together and adopt a platform that is up-to-date, nominate a man that the people of the coun try have confidence in, espec ially the business interest and we are confident that the next president will be a democrat. The greater part of the laboring class of the country are in sym pathy with the party but when the business interests of the country become alarmed and predict dire calamities if a cer tain party is successful, then la bor gets scared and goes with them, so it is absolutely neces sary that we have the support of both if we are successful and this we can get if we act wisely. —Aberdeen Telegram. IWglit Wan Her Terror. " I would cough nearly all night long," writes Mrs. Chas. Applegate, of Alexandria, Ind., "and could hardly get any sleep. I had consumption so bad that if I walked a block I would cough frightfully and spit blood, but, when all other medicines failed, three SI.OO bottles of Dr. King's New Discovery wholly cured me and I gained 58 pounds." It's absolutely guar anteed to cure Coughs, Colds, LaGrippe, Bronchitis and all Throat and Lung Troubles. Price 50c and $1 00. Trial bot tles free at C. L. "Wilson's, The Drouth And Corn. The intense heat and long continued drouth in the States which raise a great percentage of corn have caused a marked advance in price.. Secretary of Agriculture Wilson believes that the probable loss has been exaggerated and that rains in the next few days will insure an average crop. He urges that it should be cultivated a week or two later than usual where drouth is damaging it and be lieves that such action will in crease the yield to a marked extent. It is certain that even a yield of two billion bushels, which seems unlikely at the present time, will be needed at fair prices, and a less yield means a greater price. The Southern farmers who raise a good corn crop this year are to be con gratulated, and the high price corn is now selling for speaks loudly of the folly of placing "all the eggs in the cotton basket," even when cotton is bringing a price that makes it a great money-making crop.— Home fe Farm.
