It was recently announced by Representative Zebulon Weaver that Ashevllle was first on the list, should a Public Building Bill be passed and the hopes are bright. A short time ago a campaign was launched for a new Federal Build ing In Ashevllle and It was stated that a committee would probably be sent to Washington to ask for an appropriation for this city as soon as the bill was started on the move through the IIouhb. CONFEDERATE VETERANS TO ENJOY TRIP TO VANDERBILT ESTATE AND ORGAN RECITAL An organ recital at Grove Park Inn and a trip to the Vanderbllt Estate will be two of the outstand ing featuree of the reunion of Con federate Veterans of North Caro Via in Ashevllle next week. The moving picture houses ol the city will be opened free to the veterans during the reunion and the Asheville Power and Light Company has agreed to furnish free transportation for the Soldier? of the Sixties. Three Men Enlist in Marine Corps Here Three young men enlisted in the United States Marine Corps yester day, two being -sent to Quantico, Va.. and the other to Paris Island, S. C. They were Joseph T. David son, Frank B. Rhlnehardt and John Gibson. The recruits report ed to Sergeant D. C. Gibson, who it connected, with the recruiting sta tion at Greensboro. Sergeant Gibson will remain In ohevl'e Until early this afternoon, when he will depart for Greens boro. He will return to the city in tne near future.' , He is an expert marksman.
