SUMMER days are gone and the leaves are falling, but bright skies are over head and crisp, cheerful, frosty days, it ' may be, are just beyond the horizon of the seasons. Yet even when stern Winter blasts blow down upon us from the North, the days and especially the evenings are not without their happy com pensations. For Autumn ushers inthe aeason of theatres and more formally brilliant affairs, which are accom- ' panied by garments 'of rich loveliness. And in the verit able spirit of the cloth-of-gold and of shimmering silks and satins, evening costumes afford appropriate back grounds for beautiful jewels, without which, indeed, the effect of no costume can be complete. . - . And there is an abundance of such iewels now in Fash. ion's favor. The popularity of ear-rings shows no abateW ment; bracelets are gaining rapidly in importance; while J the sautoir watch, an ornament of genuine distinction, has 4 ticked its way into feminine fancy. But should 'we try to enumerate the charms of all the fashionable jewe'lry. we"" could never stop. Instead, we invite Madam to come and ' inspect them for herself. ' HENDERSON 52 Patton Avenue.
