A million and a half dollar annually goes for salaries of colored teacher. Mabel Champion, charged with the first degree murder of Thomas O'Connell, carnival pro moter of New Haven, Com., in reeaturant here lout July, was found guilty of manslaughter by a Jury composed of seven women and five men In common plea court here tonight. Judge Bernon immediately im posed the maximum sentence of 20 year In Maryville reformatory. Attorjieys for the defense enter ed a moon for a new trial, which Jutlge Bernon donled. This is the first fruit of Cripple Censue Week which end Saturday. Name of all children who may be benefited by treatment and those of adult who can be re habilitated should be given Im mediately to the county social agent who are taking this census.
