Houston Glazener this past week. E. P. Hogsed called on Louie Raines Monday afternoon. Leaving Brevard last Thursday H. P. Hall and son, L. C., thought they, ] would out run the rain to F. Hen- ] derson's but all in vain. They were in all that downpour of rain and hail, fording water in the road so j deep that the engine was nearly | drowned, as well as themselves^ sev- ] jeral times. Finally within sight of I Henderson's the engine died and there they had to sit for nearly an ' hour before they could ever walk ' on to the house. Mrs Jean Whitmire and twin daughters, Ruby and Lois, from East Fork, were in our section Saturday and spent the week-end with "Aunt Joe" and "Jay" Whitmire. Catawba County poultry growers have perfected an organization to promote the interests of this phase of farm activity. The new associa-( tion will aid in standardizing pro-| duction and marketing. i ?RS. KiLPATRICK IS VICTIM OF STROKE ROSMAN, June 7. ? Mrs. Robert Kilpatrick, aged 68, of the Glouce* :er section, died suddenly of a heart attack at her home on Tuesday of last week, Funeral services were ueld at Macedonia Baptist church of which the deceased was a member, the following Friday, with interment E in the cemetery nearby. Mrs. Kilpatrick was before her marriage, Miss Mary Bracken of this county. She is survived by the I husband and the following children: Burgeon, Fred, Talmadge, Hardy, Mis3 Edna Kilpatrick, Mrs. Car!
