Martin Mauney has accepted a posi tion with Moss-Reinhardt and will be glad to have his friends call on him at the new furniture store. Rev. W. F. Stamey, and daughter, Bertha, and Mr. G. F. Settlemyre, are attending the Wesleyan Methodist conference in Asheville, this week. Mrs. J. F. Alexander, Mrs. R. E. Biggerstaff, Misses Nell and Margaret Young and Mr. E. G. The Rutherford county cotton gin report shows there has been 7,309 bales ginned in this county prior to November 14, 1919, as compared with 6,034 bales ginned November 14, 1918. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Young, of Fort Gaines, Ga., are visiting his mother, Mrs. James Young, in Forest City. They were accompained by Miss Gladys Taylor, of Worcester, Mass. 'The teachers and pupils of the Forest City schools enjoyed the Thanksgiving holidays. School was out from Wednesday afternoon until Monday morning. Many of the teach ers went to their homes for the holi days. C. D. Early and family of the Walls section have moved to Forest City. Mr. Early is one of the country's best citizens and we welcome this good family to our town. They are at present making their home with Wm. J. Davis in the house he recently pur chased on West Main street. Last Friday, Chief of Police R B. Kendrick arrested Finn Allen, an escaped convict from the Cleveland county gang Allen escaped from the gang about one year ago and *ince that time says he has been in Gaston and neighboring counties. He hud three more months to serve and Chief Kendrick turned the pris oner over to the Cleveland county authorities.
