Notice To Taxpayers \ll tax-payers of Rutherford county are requested to lis heir personal property with the County Assessor at on ne Revaluation Law makes it compulsory for «vei\ ta> . ei to list all the personal property he possessed on the rst day of January, 1920, at its cash value, and pro vi penalty of 25 per centum to he anded to the tax, in «• event of his lailure to list; and the law also makesit a .sdemeanor for any Que to fail or refuse to list his pei »na 1 property for taxes. Ihe County Assessor is now ari meetings in the various townships for the pur poi- of making lists and conferring with the tax-payers, so th*' the utmost fairness and equality in valuations be eflV« ted. The real property has been assessed at as near its cash value as possible and now it is compulsory for every tax* pa\er to list his personal property for taxes at its true cash value. If all tax-payers would at once prepare memoranda of all personal property owned by them ou the first of January, 1920, it would greatly expediate the work of the Assessors and wave much expense as well as valuable time Special attention is directed to the provision that all solvent credits and notes due the tax-payer must be itemized, each solvent credit and note separately and by name, or the tax-payer will forfeit his right to collect the name. To produce the lowest possible tax rate uuder the Re valuation Act it is necessary that all tax-payers prepare complete memoranda of the personal property in good faith and with care, kor these reasons we appeal to every body to assist us by having these memoranda ready at the sever il appointments now being made for the purpose of listing personal property. As a matter of course, the more accurate the values placed upon property the quicker the assessment will be completed and the less it will cost the county to do this work.
