Ford parts, like almost everything else worth while, are counterfeited. Imitation parts are manufactured to SELL at the highest possible rate of profit and the grades of steel used are consequently not the same high quality, specially heat treated alloy steels specified in Ford formulas for the manufacture of GEN UINE FORD PARTS. Don't be misled —Insist upon GENUINE FORD PARTS made by the Ford Motor Company. By so doing you will get from 35 to 100 per cent more wear from them, and you will pay the lowest possible cost —the same everywhere. 50% OF GENUINE FORD PARTS RETAIL FOR LESS THAN 10c EACH Ask for Parts Price List f When your Ford car, or Fordson tractor needs attention, call on us. Prospects for active co-opera tion of the authorities of Ruther ford county with the agents of the forestry division of the state geological and economic survey are reported to be highly favor able, by Clarence H. Burrage, dis- I trict fire warden for eastern 'North Carolina, who returned last night from a trip of several days to Rutherfrodton, says the Ashe ville Times. Henry L. Forney and W. J. Har bin, fire wardens working in Rutherford county under auspices of the state forestry division, made reports to Mr. Burrage, showing excellent results in the work of forest fire prevention in j that locality. In addition to holding consulta | tions with a number of the lead i ing citizens of Rutherfordton, Mr. Burrage spoke to the county com missioners at their meeting Mon day urging them to make appro priations for the extension of for est patrols in Rutherford county, in' co-operation with the work of the state forestry division. The county commissioners favor ed such action and indicated that a definite appropriation would soon be included in the county's budget for the maintenance of more fire wardens. One Ruther ford lumberman offered to place a considerable sum annually at the disposal of the local forestry authorities, in order to obtain reg ular fire patrols over the region in which he owns timber lands. Especial" interest was manifested in the work of forest protection by the farmers of Rutherford county, because of the great amount of sand and gravel wash ing down on the bottom lands. At the present rate, it was stated, much of the best agricultural property in the county would be made unfit for use within 25 years. Protection of forests on the mountain slopes, to prevent the washing down of sand and gravel, is the, only way by which these valuable farm lands may be preserved. OPENS LAW OFFICE We call the attention of our readers to the professional card of Mr. Stover P. Dunagan which makes its initial appearance in this week's issue. He has been as sociated as attorney with the firm of Quinn, Hamrick & Harris since May, 1920, but has now opened a law office of his own over the Commercial Bank, Rutherfordton. Mr. Dunagan has been connect ed with the legal profession for the past 15 years, having begun working in a law office at the age of 16; obtained license at the age of 2#, and practiced law in the state of Mississippi for three years prior to the World War. He is the only ex-service man engag ed in the practice of law at Ruth erfordton. He attended the law school at Vake Forest in the sum mer of 1921, and was licensed to practice law by the Supreme Court of North Carolina'last Aug ust. Mr. Dungan has already de monstrated to the people his abil ity as a lawyer, and will take care of any matters that may be en trusted to him, serving his clients faithfully and diligently. We wish for Mr. Dunagan much success, and feel confident that he will be a leader in his profes sion. SPARTANBURG SECRETARY GOES TO SAVANNAH Spartanburg, S. C., July 10, —E. B. Walker secretary of the Spar tanburg Chamber of Commerce for the past three years, has been elected secretary of the Savannah Board of Trade, and will leave for the Georgia city on or about Aug ust 10th to accept the position. Under Secretary Walker's ad ministration the Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce has been an extremely busy organization. It has accomplished much good work for the city, and the record is one which has attracted wide attention. The body is in a healthy condition, and, what can be said of very few commercial organiza tions, it is entirely free of debt. Who Mr. Walkers successor will be is not known yet. A commit tee composed of H. Frank McGee, Floyd L. Liles and Luther K. Brice has been named by Howard B. Carlisle, president of the Cham ber of Commerce, to look over the field and recommend a good man for the place. The Spartanburg Chamber is looking for a first class man, as no backward step wi'll be taken, but the good work initiated during Mr. Walke's ad ministration will be pushed with energy.
