In connection with the above inter esting historical information regard ing the period of '61-'65, another most interesting fact has come to our at tention, which shows the patriotic loyalty of one of Scotland's families to the cause for which the South so nobly struggled. This family sent ten brave, big-hearted sons to the front and all of them did service that reflected credit upon our community and upon the State's proud war rec ord. These ten boys were sons of the late Rueben Jones, grandfather of our townsman, Mr. Jas. A. Jones, and were as follows: William Jones. Archie Jones. Duncan Jones. Jas. H. Jones. Daniel Jones. Hiram Jones. Alex Jones. Sam Jones. Malccmb Jones. Dougald Jones. Of these ten brothers two are now living, Mr. Dougald Jones, who re sides in Marlboro- county, S. C, and Mr. Sam Jones, of Laurinburg, R. F. D. No. 3. It's disheartening, we'll admit, but only one of the gang can be elected president this trip. We insist, though, that there are some women who can keep a secret. Dead ones never talk. There is consolation for some of us after all. A man is never homely to the woman who loves him. When a man's a real man yoil never hear him reminding you of the fact.
