Supposed to Hare Fallen Off Platform at Phosphate Plant. Will McKay, colored, was found dead at the plant of the McNair Phos phate Company Wednesday evening shortly after 6 o'clock. No one seemed to know anything of how he came to his death and there was therefore no evidence to assist the coroner and his jury in the matter except that of one witness who saw him just a few moments before his death. The witness was Jule Hursey, an other operator at the plant. Hursey saw him and spoke to him about ten minutes before his dead body was found. Hursey said he seemed nor mal in every respect. The only conclusion that can be reached, and in fact, the one that the coroner's jury did reach, was that he came to his death from a fall. It is supposed that he fell from a platform to where his body was found, the dis tance being about six feet. Dr. Peter McLean examined the body and stated, that no bones were broken, and that he did not think that he had come in contact with any electric wires, the theory of some being that he had gotten hold of a wire and was electrocuted. The attendance is not what it should be and there is a disposition on the part of the business life of the town to not give a very hearty support to the local team, and unless there is a change to different conditions and local people show that they are more interested in the continuation and suc cess of the season, Laurinburg will, in all probability, withdraw from the Cape Fear League July 7th. This is a reality folks. Mr. A. K. Currie 111. The large number of friends of Mr. A. K.
