Right new members were enrolled. Our school ground is being much improved by Lewis Elliott and the school. Front of the building when school began was so full of stumps that you Could not turn a car. The children co ill not play. Now as early as this there are only three stumps in front of the building. We hope to move these this week. The equipment for the inside' of the new building is almost complete. We feel sure now that we will leave the MODEL SCHOOL hoped for in the beginning. Come everybody please to some of eur "school amusements Christmas week. Program: Three plays, by the sixth and sev enth grades Friday night, December 18, High School students presents "Dust of the Earth," Saturday night at Stacy. Monday night we take the ' play "Dust of the Earth" to Atlan tic. The school gives the Christmas program Tuseday night. Wednes day night at our home auditorium we present "The Dust of the Earth. We hope to give the best entertainment during these nights that has ever been given in this part of th county. Please come and help usx. We need you and appreciate your help. . Miss Grace Davis, of Davis has been the guest of her brother L. J. Davis for the week end. Rev Bell filled his regular ap pointment here Sunda evening. A large crowd attended. TO THE A MOUNT OF TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS, ($25, 000) FOR THE PURPOSE OF COMPLETING THE WATER AND SEWERSYSTEM OF SAID TOWN. WHEREAS, The Board of Com missioners of the Town of Beaufort. North Carolina deem it advisable to j complete the water and sewer system ; in said Town; and j i WHEREAS, Said improvement is a necessary expense oof said Town; WHEREAS, The cuijent revenues of said Town are not sufficient to meet the obligations imposed upon the Town and at the same time pro vide moneys with which to undertake and construct said iraprov HOW THEREFORE EE IT OR DAINED MV ih iOrtu-y w V COMMISSIONERS OF THE TOWN OF BEAUFORT, NORTH CARO LINA: SECTION I. That for the pur pose of completing a water and sewer system in said Town, bonds of the Town of Beaufort, North Car olina shall be issued to the maximum sum of Twenty-five Thousand dollars, ($25,000.) SECTION 2. That a tax sufficient to pay the principal and interest on the bonds shall be annually levied and collected by the Town of Beau fort, North Carolina, at the same time and in the same as other town taxes are levied and collected. SECTION 3. That simultane ously with the introduction of this ordinance, a statement of the debt of the town was filed with the Town Clerk pursuant to the Municipal Finance Act, as re-enacted at the special session f the Legislature of North Carolina, 1921, and is open to public inspection. SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect 30 days after its first pub lication unless in the meantime, . a petition for its submission to the voters is filed under the provisions of the Municipal Finance Act, 1921 and in such event it shall take effect when approved by the voters of the municipality at an election as pro vided in such act. The foregoing ordiance was pass ed on the 7th. day of December, 1925, and was first published on the 10th. day of December, 1925. Any action or proceeding ques tioning the validity of said ordiance must be commenced within 30 days after its first publication. M. A. HILL, Town Clerk Dec. 31.
