After the diseas ed potatoes are thoroughly dried out they can be left among the healthy j sweets for the rest of the storage per lod. Mr. Poole states that after the po tatoes are once stored and the cur ing process begun, they should not be moved for any purpose except for im mediate sale. When this is done the potatoes are bruised and, owing to the process of eurinir. the healing is very slow and the infection will spread through this raw tissue. Due to the fungus growth within a few days after storage every potato, ev en in the best regulated houses, will be exposed to a greater infection than when first stored and for this reas on alone the sweets should never be handled after curing starts, he says. The early cool fall season togeth er with an abundance of moisture in some areas has greatly favored the parasite and in many cases the in-' lection has been carried into the cur ing house on potatoes that were af fected but did nots how a,,,. ; decay, fays Dr. Poole. This infec tion cannot be helped but the spread ol the fungus can be cheeked by prop er heating and ventilation, and the v-.w 01 proper precaution handling, ho says. kin on March 14th, 1927; running I Dec with the line of Lot Number 1 south 63 east 140 feet to the corner of Lot Number 2, an iron stake; thence with the line of Lot Number South 20 west 125 feet to an iron stake at the corner of lot Number 2; thence with the line of hot Number 1, north t3 west 40 feet to an iron stake at 'he corner of hot Number 1 at Stanton Street; thence with Stanton Street north 12 west to the beginning, ami known and distinguished as hot Num ber 1 in the S.
