Scalloped Tomato Surprise
Cook 3 large, but delicate onions
in boiling salted water until soft but
not broken. Lay them in the bottom
of a buttered baking dish, with a
sharp knife divide in quarters, not
cutting entirely through the onions,

water is most effective. Dip the
grapes in this solution for about one
minute and then wash immediately
in fresh water. Good strong vinegar

sugar; pepper. 1 teaspoon salt.
Melt butter and ad crumbs. Do not
brown. Use either canned or fresh to
matoes, cut in piedes, add the onion
and seasonings. Cover the bottom of
a buttered baking dish with a layer
of tomatoes, then a layer of crumbs.
Repeat, having crumbs over the top.
Dot with butter and bake until
brown.
Stuffed Tomatoes
Scoop out center of tomatoes and
fill with minced, cooked meat and
onions; cooked vegetables a can also

with buttered bread crumbs and
bake in a moderate oven until the
crumbs are browned.
Stuffed Tomato Salad
Remove peel from medium-sized to
