its equivalent in materials for erec
tion of the proposed plant on a site,
also donated, convenient for water
raii and highway connections. They
promised als0 to pay for fire, water
and tornado damage insurance, and
to bear the expense of any taxvs that
might possibly be levied against the
plant. A lease for 99 years wis of
fered at $1 a year.
After accepting this liberal offer,
directors immediately set in motion
plans for the early beginning of
work on tr.e building, which it is hop
ed to be able to start within the next
month of so. PWA or WPA funds
wiil be sought for labor, while the
Morehead City concession will take
care of all materials and the associa
tion -will install thp. machinery.
This plant will be the central
headquarters processing establish
ment along the coast, with receiv
ing and cooling station; storage and
packing facilities. There v.iil be
two other receiving and cooling sta
tic ns, one at Manteo and the other
at Southport. A number of small
fish sheds will also ba built along
th-o coa-'t.
The board of directors held a
lengthy session. They drafted an
