THREE THIEVES
One, being hungry, took a loaf of
bread;
Another, footsore, stole a pair of
shoes;
These two, as common thieves were
duly tried,
9
And paid the penalty the law requir
ed for petty crimes. A greater thief
than they,
And one far more deserving punish
ment, Escaped unscatched and unrebuked,
although,
That which he took was valued more
than gold,
Or life. He robbed a man of his
good name,
And left him helpless, in a mesh of
lies.

sit at the Court of Equity to deter
mine how much if any, these coun
ties are entitled to have refunded
to them by the State, according to a
statement made by Judge Guy Elli

up to now have indicated their will
ingness to cooperate with the East

in presenting a united front to the
Commission. "It is clearly under
stood by the counties, that each
county will file its own claim and
present this cairn to the Commis
sion at the proper time, Chairman
Elliott said. While each county will
file its own claim and present this
claim in any way it sees fit, the
molar support of all the other coop
erating counties will be back of each
individual claim. After all is said and
done, according to Chairman Elliott,
whatever is awarded to the counties,
will have to be done by a majority
vote of the House and Senate at the
