Narrative Report County Club Work By MARGARET E. CLARK Fourteen clubs for Women met in June with a total attendance of 172. In 11 clubs the Agent, asssited by Foods and Nutrition Leaders, gave the method demonstration "Yeast Breads." In the remaining 3 clubs the demonstration was given by Foods and Nutrition Leaders. Sample yeast cakes, bread making booklets, and liquid yeast were distributed to club memhers. The County Council met with 16 in attendance, seven clubs being represented. The 1938 club work was planned, being based on the request of club members. Foods and Nutrition was voted the major project with at lesat one les son each in Clothing and House Furnishings. Members voted that a cabinet, kitchen utensils, and a pres sure cooker be purchased for the Home Demonstration office. The Council apron pockets now total six teen dollars and eighty-seven cents ($16.87). To council members Miss Blythe Burnette, Tide Water Pow er Company Home Service Director, demonstrated the cooking of an en tire dinner and canning using elec tric roaster;. To a gioup of 21 men and women Mr. D. E. J)nes, Rural Electrification Specialist from State College Exten sion Service, demonstrated the im portance of correct wiring of homes. Approximately fifty women at tended the annual district meeting of Federated Demonstration Clul) women held at Atlantic Beach June 17. Twenty home visits an ! a total of 813 miles were made during the 20 June work days. 419 notices were is sued from the office, 14 U.S.D.A. bulletins and 223 N. C. leaflets were distributed. Curb Market Twenty five sellers appeared on the market which opened on Wednes day and Saturday of each week from 7:30 till 11:00 A. M. Three ads were placed in local paper, four stories written, and 1000 mimeo graphed ad phamplets were distribut ed. Mrs. Harry Gillikin, county mar ket chairman and president of the Eettie Club, led the sellers, her to tal sales being $115.38 of which $43.50 was for poultry, $56.36 for Dr. F. E.
