White found an old sword in the field near his house last week. The field which has been cultivated for six years or more was plowed last week and the sword found on the surface. The sword maybe a hundred years old but is in good ^ shape. The hilt which looks like brass is said by expert jewelers to have been covered v/ith gold. Miss May Speer who has been the guest of Miss Flossie Loy for the past ten days returned to her home at Winston-Salem, Friday, accompanied by Miss Loy. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Atkin son entertained about forty six of their relatives and friends last Saturday evening about 3 o^clock cake ice cream lemonade and good apple cider were served. All present had a delightful time. A Geodi Game of Ball. What is prohounced by many as the best game of ball of the i season, was played atHarden’^sj Park Saturday evening between the home team and Proximity. { FVom beginning to jfinish the game was a record breaker and gave much enthusiasm to the lovers of the sport.
